Room permissions is a feature built for protecting access to certain rooms and equipment. This is very handy for maker spaces and specialty equipment that require certifications or certain plans to access. By creating permissions on rooms and equipment you can assign those specific permissions to members when they meet your requirements.
Enabling Room Permissions
1. Navigate to Rooms.
2. Select the conference room or equipment you would like to edit.
3. Toggle Requires Permission? to ON.
This will prompt you to add the group(s) that you would like to allow permission to use this conference room or equipment.
4. Create your permission group by typing and selecting "Create ..." or find a pre-configured permission group. Here, we create one called Certification A, but you can name it whatever you want.
Note: After creating permissions on a room, that will make that room unavailable by default to everyone through the mobile apps (still always visible to managers in dashboard). You then need to grant those rooms or equipment to a specific member.
Granting Permission to Specific Members
1. Navigate to Directory.
2. Select the member that you would like to give permissions to.
Here you should see the Certification A group that you created earlier. Once selected, this will allow them to see that room or equipment in the mobile apps.
